The father of the donor wrote that his grandparents, David Hill and his wife, with four children, migrated to Chesterfield, Michigan. The donor notes that her father, Bernard Hill was a great-grandson of Nazareth Hill who, (she understands), arrived in 1825 and renamed Howville to Hillsburg (now Hillsburgh). Her father visited the village several times, searching for his roots. |
