Description |
Golightly negatives, A-F: The over 600 negative envelopes have been organized in the manner found. Most envelopes had already been given a letter of the alphabet, followed by a number - for example A-1, A-2, A-3; at the end of each section are numbers assigned by the cataloguer - for example B-?1, B-?2, B-?3. Some envelopes were not included, though their contents were listed on the alphabet cards at the end of each section. William Golightly (1898-1971) was staff photographer at Beatty Bros.; he retired in 1961 or 1962 with 35 years service. He also took photographs of weddings, children and family groups, and his pictures appeared in the Fergus News-Record. He was active in the Fergus Camera Club. - NA 5856: [A-2] 29th Battery scheme / Army res., 27 June 1943.
