The fonds consists of materials compiled by Lyle R.J. Myers (1916-2002), an employee for over 30 years with Beatty Bros. Limited, Fergus, and later the principal of L.R.J. Myers Enterprises, which began with offices on Dawson Road, Guelph and later Whitney Place, Kitchener. SERIES 1: PUBLICATIONS, 1916-1945. Consists of 30 BT and Beatty Barn Books, arranged chronologically by date, 1916-1939 [some duplicates]; bound hardcover, and published by Beatty Bros., Fergus. The Barn Books appeared in a standardized format 25cm x 17cm (9.75" x 7"); they included plans, and b&w illustrations of impressive barns and prosperous farmsteads "Remodelled stable of Edward Johnston, Canada's Premier Tenor, Guelph, Ont."; "Dairy Barn of Lady Eaton, Eaton Hall Farm, Eversley, Ont.". In addition to listing the Beatty products in detail, they included much information of a helpful and general nature: "Ventilating the Barn"; "Water Bowls Save Labour"; "Clean Yards and Sanitary Surroundings."
