Description |
Colour print of the house, barn and fields originally owned by David Foote, Nichol Township, Ontario. In the late twentieth century Jim Keating subdivided the farm into residential lots. The barn no longer stands, but the farmhouse is located on Gourlay Road, just north of Colborne Street, Elora. Roberta Allan describes the photo: "1852, On the back road to Fergus, just east of Elora, lies a Century Farm taken out by David Foote Sr. The brick part of the house was built in 1852 (the brick part is behind the trees). The stone part was added in 1872. A grandson of David Foot, Robert Foote, is now [ca. 1970s] living on the farm". |
