Materials related to the lives of James Rea (1829-1901), his wife Agnes (Nancy) Torrance (1837-1898); their daughter, Euphemia Rea (1858-1945) who married James Grant (1848-1927); and the latter's son Melvin Grant (1892-1957): - file 1: Diary of James Grant, of his trip from Scotland to Canada, ca. 1869-1870, also notes re. work 1871-1872, and re. the English and Greek languages. - file 2: Address to James Grant, from the residents of School Section No.5, Twp. of Guelph [Mr. Grant taught there 1887-1901]. - file 3: Public School Drawing Course, 1899, with examples drawn by student Melvin Grant, Paisley Block School, S.S. No.5, Guelph Twp., ca.1899. - file 4: Certificate of Flight, No.2155. Universal Air Industries Ltd., does certify that Mrs. James Grant, Belwood, did on this day, fly as a passenger on one of its regularly scheduled flights, Ted Holmes, pilot, 28 June 1929.
