Description |
Stores along the south side of Mill St., Elora, Ontario. ph 7143 Stores and cars along south side of Mill Street. Third building from left replaces an earlier building which was torn down. In 1864 R. J. Smith erected this brick store which was used as a bookstore, and later by T.P. Smith as a drug store (mortar and pestle still visible). The three storey building beside it was built in 1859 by B. Taylor. It later became Campbell's store. Includes partial view of Wellington County Museum. ph 7144 Stores and cars along south side of Mill Street. Left to right: Bulding owned by Felix Minorovitch which has been restored as a townhouse; Mundell's office and show room, once a bank, owned by Mr. thompson Sr. and being developed at time photo taken; Squash court. ph 7145 Stores and mill along south side of Mill Street West. Wm. Gibbon proposed the construction of these buildings in 1860. The buildings are associated with W.P. Newman, The Bank of Montreal, and Miss Catherine Dickinson. |
