View from lover's leap towards Elora Mill, flooded Grand River with ice chunks flower over dam, tooth of time, Mundell factory, and other buildings on the south side of the river, including drill shed, and burned-out ruin of carpet factory. Someone [Connon?] has added a roof and window panes to carpet factory with black ink. Written on back of photo, "Photo of Elora Falls by Mr John Connon"; written on photo over part of mill wall, "1899". See ph 8859 for cropped version of this image which was published in Connon's history of Elora. It does not include the "1899" date on the mill, but does include the penned-in additions to carpet factory ruin. |
