Description |
One-storey Baptist Church on Henderson Street, Elora, ca. 1865. Black and white print of a one-storey brick building, Elora, Ontario. Roberta Allan adds, "A neat brick building on Henderson St. was built in 1863 for the Baptist Church Congregation. No record of when it was closed as a church. For a number of years the Anglican Congregation used it for a Parish Hall, until 1954. It was then bought by the Orange Lodge for a meeting place. Orange Hall sold it back to St. John's Church, wen lodge closed. Presently used as a classroom by St. John's School". ph 7122 shows the rear of the hall which was the entrance when the hall was a church. |
