Photographs taken by Elysia DeLaurentis from a hot air balloon which left Bissell Park in Elora at 7:00 am, 14 July 2003, and touched down in a farmer's field southeast of Ospringe, Erin Township at about 8:30 am. The balloon travelled from Elora, along the Grand River to Fergus, then diagonally southeast. ph 17355a: Elora, looking west along Grand River towards Metcalfe St. bridge. Nieuwland Feed mill visible at top left corner. Bissell Park at bottom right. ph 17355b: Elora, looking down on Bissell Park and houses along Mill Street East. Drew House in centre. The old frame barn with red roof at the southwest corner of Highway 25 and Highway 124 was dismantled in July 2014. In December 2014, a large new building was under construction on the northeast corner of the intersection. After the gas station burned down several months prior, a trailerhome was placed at the site, and this large new building will replace it and the gas station. |
