  1. 1965.8.3.02 - Medallion Case

    Bronze medallion and leather case. (.01) On the front of the medallion is a bust with "Memorial James Jerome Hill"; on the reverse is a wreath of oak leaves with "September 16, 1838 - May 29, 1917 / One of the World's Greatest Builders." (.02) Black leather case with white velvet and satin lining.

  2. 1965.8.4.01 - Hat, Top Hat, Man

    A man's black beaver pelt top hat (.01) dated circa 1870-1880. Tall cylindrical crown with a flat top; rigid narrow brim slightly turned up at the edges. Small bow on the right side. It has a grey cardboard rim inside with a red lining. "Broadway" is written on the bottom with two multi-coloured stripes. Includes its original leather hat box (1965.8.4.02); stored in a separate location.

  3. 1965.8.4.02 - Hatbox Box, Hat

    A leather hatbox (.02) dated circa 1870-1880. The top hat (1965.8.4.01) was originally store in the box. It is stored in a separate location. The hat box has a leather strap on the lid from right to left which may at one time have been locked. It has a handle on the top with an ID tag reading "A. S. D. Hill" on a white card. A copper lock is on the left side. The key is now lost. Many baggage stickers are stuck on the front and bottom of the box...
