  1. 1993.11.1 - Lifter, Pie

    A handmade wooden and metal pie lifter. The wooden handle is painted red with yellow stripes. The heavy wire, inserted at the handle, is bent to create a piece which reaches across the pie and pulls it toward the puller. Another wire is fashioned around the bottom to rest the edge of the pie on.

    A heavy cast iron nail puller. Pincers at one end which lock around the head of the nail to be pulled. A short handle moves up and down on the shaft of the pincers.

    A hand held, plier-like tool made of steel; spring-loaded handles and two adjusting screws.

    Wooden rake with wooden teeth widely spaced apart. Metal wire support on either side of handle is attached to the horizontal bar holding the teeth. Manufacturer's stamp on handle.

  5. 2016.58.1 - Quilt, Autograph Quilt, Signature

    Signature quilt dated circa 1945. The quilt is white cotton, with thirty-two large red embroidered floral motifs (six across, six down) with signatures inked inside each petal. In the centre of the quilt are two columns of names of individuals who served, with embroidered motifs surrounding the names. Above the names is a maple leaf motif, with three red maple leaves with "CANADA" on a scroll below the leaves. Below the names is motif with a laur...
