1952X.15.7 - Model Model, Agricultural Plough

A wooden model of a plough. Handmade by John Gilchrist of Puslinch Township, dated circa 1933.

1952X.15.8 - Model Model, Agricultural Puller, Stump

A handmade, wooden model of a four-wheel stumping machine or stump puller. It is 1/3 the original size. The machine has a large pulley wheel and a smaller wheel on the same arm. The model was made by John Gilchrist of Puslinch Township circa 1932.

1954.72.1.02 - Teapot Lid

Dark brown earthenware "Brown Betty" teapot with lid. Rockingham-type brown glaze. One panel on each side with a bunch of grapes in the centre. Small knob on top of lid. Cut-out portion to go over lug on teapot which holds the lide in place.

1954.73.1.02 - Vase

A pair of cobalt blue blown glass vases. Fluted tops with gold and tan handpainted flowers and leaves at the waist or centre of the vase. A pontil mark appears on the base of each vase.

1954.73.3 - Mug, Shaving Product, Shaving

White ceramic shaving mug with handle and a section at the top of cup with drainage holes. Formal design in gold below the cup rim on each side: three large splashes of roses, bouquet of mixed white, orange and lavender flowers with green leaves on the one side.

1954.74.1.04 - Churn, Butter

Wooden dash churn (.01) made of twelve staves of wood bound by four metal hoops (two hoops are missing). Circular wooden lid (.02) made of a solid piece of wood with a hole in the centre for the dasher handle (.03). Two interlocking pieces of wood on the end of a long handle. The bottom of the churn (.04) is circular and badly worn.

1954.74.2.02 - Press, Cheese

Wood and metal cheese press with lid. The press is made of five sections of wood alternating with five sections of thinner wood, bound by two metal hoops. The bottom has random holes for drainage. The lid is a solid circular piece of wood with a three-piece block handle made with square nails. Fair condition - one hoop is broken.

1994.18.1 - Quilt

Quilt with the "Dresden Plate" pattern on white background. Dated circa 1935. White backing. Each section of the plate is a different colour, with the central, unifying colour being pink. Quilt is bordered in pink. Quilted in a flower pattern. Pencil marks still visible on the background.

A carpenter's handmade pine tool chest with a hinged lid. The tool chest is rectangular in shape. The inside of the chest is stained a walnut colour. The outside of the chest was stained and then painted over in white. There is a rectangular piece of wood with a bevelled edge nailed to the top of the lid.
