  1. 1990.25.2 - Plate, Coffin Plaque, Coffin

    A coffin plate for Ellen Johnston, 1886. The silver-plated coffin plate has a spray of flowers decorated on each of the four sides. It is mounted in a black velvet lined wooden box. Hand etched on the coffin plate is "Ellen Johnston/ Died Feby 7th 1886/ Aged 68 Years".

  2. 1990.25.5.02 - Embroidery, Punchcard Embroidery, Punched Paper Hanging, Wall

    A framed, punched paper embroidery which reads "God Bless Our Home". Depicted in the centre is a purple farmhouse with green shutters and white roof, surrounded by several trees. Lettering embroidery is in variegated shades of red with floral decorations in purple and green. Hand embroidered in wool. Dark brown frame has a painted gesso finish with an inner gilded moulding.

  3. 1990.25.6.02 - Embroidery, Punchcard Embroidery, Punched Paper Hanging, Wall

    A framed, punched paper embroidery which reads "Home Sweet Home". Lettering embroidery is in variegated shades of red wool with a green floral border. In the centre is a farmhouse surrounded by a white fence and trees. A silver metallic backing sparkles through the punched paper. Dark brown wood frame consists of a painted gesso finish with an inner gilded moulding.

  4. 1997.5.1 - Mask, Shaman Mask, Ritual

    Iroquois mask made from corn husk; the face is braided. At the sides of the chin are two rawhide thongs. When these are untied the face of the mask swings up. A tag attached says "Irocrafts, Six Nations Grand River County North America". Inside is written "Gajesa, Corn Husk Face Mask, old style with husk hood. Made by Giyada Yasas "Wasted Doll", Mohawk Woman. Turtle Clan, age 76+ years".

  5. 1997.5.3.02 - Basket, First Nations

    A small circular First Nations basket (.02) with a lid (.01) dated circa 1909 to 1915. The lid had a knob on the top. The basket is woven of light coloured straw. Black symbols of birds and canoes are on the outside.

  6. 1997.5.4.02 - Basket, First Nations

    A small circular First Nations basket (.02) with a lid (.01) dated circa 1909 to 1915. The basket is woven with light brown straw and it has purple, blue and green stripes. On the top is woven a green flower on the lid (.01).

    Circular patch with green background and gold trim. In the middle is the image of two crossed baseball bats with a brown baseball glove on top and a baseball in the glove. Gold text along the bottom reads "Ponsonby". The back is covered in stiff plastic material.

    Bell bottom pants with a multicolour patchwork pattern. The patchwork is made up of evenly sized squares of red, green, yellow, blue, and brown cotton fabric. The pants are lined on the inside with plain white cotton. There is a hidden hook and eye closure at the waist and a beige zippered front.
