Camisole

Description

White cotton corset cover with filet crocheted yoke applied by hand to the bodice. Two buttons on the front (lower button missing). The neckline is square with a crocheted draw string, and crocheted balls on the end of the string. Waistline seam, and bias peplum are gathered to the bodice. The hem is turned to the outside and machine stiched.

Made and worn by the donor's mother, Jemima Carter, nee Jemima Wallace, and known as 'Mina'. She married Roy Carter and lived in Arkell. She died 1973. This piece was worn circa 1910.
