Description |
A flat military identification tag, 1916. The silver-coloured metal tag is circular with a hole in the top. Inscribed on one side is the following information: "487467/ Jones .J.G./ P.P.C.L.I./ Pres." On the other side is inscribed "Canadians". The tag identifies the owner's name, serial number and area of service. |

The military identification tag or dog tag belonged to Marion (Matheson) Marshall's uncle, J. Gordon Jones of Elora. He served in France and Belgium from May to July in 1916. He was wounded twice and gassed. He recuperated in an English hospital and was sent home. |
