Description |
Handsewn, hand-printed Masonic apron, circa 1754. The apron is made of linen and trimmed with a blue and red cotton fringe; twisted cord ties in blue, red and white at each side. The apron is a large square with a curved flap of cloth folded over the top. Printed on the flap and skirt are Masonic symbols in blue, red and yellow. The symbols include a square and compass, trowel, Noah's ark with dove, angels, key, the burning bush, twelve candlesticks, the sun, half-moon and stars, a rooster, cow and snake, a coffin, hourglass, baskets or urns. Printed at the bottom is the Lodge number "No. 134." |
