Description |
A cardboard puzzle of a map of Ontario dated to 1955. The puzzle is divided into sections with each county represented. It also has a listing with the county, district seats, population and economies. On the map is labeled the Ontario Coat of Arms with information about the map in brown ink which includes the following: "Know Ontario Better/ A Puzzle Map Illustrating The Economy of the Province of Ontario by Counties and Districts/ Designed and Published by/ Hon. Louis P. Cecile. Q.C., Minister of Travel and Publicity/ C.C. Crowe/ Deputy Minister/ Division of Publicity/ G.W. Hogarth, Director/ Copyright 1955". |

The puzzle was given to the donor's mother, Lillian Pearl Young (born August 29, 1902) when she toured the Parliament Buildings in 1955. It was probably with the Women's Institute. Pearl's parents were Clara Jane Jackson (1876-1947) and George Gray Robertson (born 1871). She was married to George Murray Young (born June 6, 1906) on June 7, 1930. They lived in Erin Township on Lot 15. |
