Description |
A ceramic doll and doll clothing dated circa 1900-1920. The doll has a bisque head, forearms and hands. It has a white leather body and legs, brown fixed glass eyes, painted brown lashes and eyebrows and orange painted lips. Four teeth are visible in the dolls open mouth. It has light brown long hair with curled ends. The doll's clothing is stored with the doll and is not numbered separately. They consist of a pink cotton full-length dress, a full-length petticoat, a white cotton combination, pink knee socks and pink cotton shoes. The dress is designed from the original dress worn by the doll. It has long sleeves, gathered wrists, and a high collar with lace trim. The dress has a gathered V-bodice attached at the waist crossing over the shoulders and attached at the back waist. The combination has lace that edges the legs and the petticoat has embroidery trim. |

The doll clothes were handmade for the doll, which belonged to Mrs. G. W. Carleton (nee Elizabeth Cooper) in Concord, Ont. The clothes were made by her aunt dated circa 1900-1920. |
