Description |
Monopoly style game highlighting the Fergus and Elora including local businesses and landmarks. The game includes money, dice, game pieces, property and "action" cards. .01 and .02 - Box lid and bottom: Cardboard, rectangular, with full colour printed paper wrap on the top and bottom outer facing sides of each. The top of the box lid (.01) reads "Fergusopoly" in large print across the top in gold text with a red and green background. "A fun game celebrating the villages of Elora and Fergus!" in black text is in a banner below. Along the bottom half of the lid is a large-scale image of various sections of the board including "contingency", "Caldwell Creek", "South River Road", "Fergus Curling Club" and "GO". Around all four sides is the same repeating text from the top of the lid with the addition of a silhouette image of a Scottish piper and beige text "2 to 6 players, ages 8 and up". The inside of the lid is plain white. The very bottom of the bottom of the box (.02) has a large image of the full board, each of the game pieces, a few paragraphs about how the game was made and how to play, as well as some legal and copyright information. The colours from the bottom extend to wrap the sides. The inside is plain white. .03 - "Game Playing Instructions": One-page, double-sided, black text on white paper and square shape. There are multiple headings that explain the various parts of the game. They are: "The Games Consists of…", "To Begin…", "The Bank…", "All Tokens…", "Big Fun and Contingency Cards…", "Purchasing Properties…", "Rent,,,", "I {heart symbol}…", "Traffic Jam…", "City Blocks…", "Keys To The City…", "City Block and Key To The City Shortages…", "Selling Property…", "Mortgages…", "Bankruptcy…", and "A Short Version Of The Game…". .04 - Board: The properties or businesses line the outer edge of the board, colour coded and grouped; each has a value along the bottom. The middle features the title "Fergusopoly, A fun game celebrating the villages of Elora and Fergus!" as well as places for "Big Fun" and "Contingency" cards. The board can be folded in the center and folded in half again, with a split section on one side. The back is covered in textured blue paper. .05 - 2 dice: Six-sided plastic dice, white with black dots. .06 - 6 silver metal game pieces (a hand, a heart, a shoe, a smile, a dog and a pretzel) Each game piece is small, made of silver metal and formed into a different shape. The hand is five-fingered, standing upright and mounted on a small circular base. The heart is slightly uneven, with one side larger, standing upright and mounted on a small circular base. The shoe is a classic high-top sneaker with a rounded toe and laced up detail. The smile is a wide, cartoon-like, teeth baring smile, standing upright and mounted on a small circular base. The dog appears to be a bulldog, in a seated position. The pretzel is twisted in the middle, slightly flat, with textured flecks of "salt" on it. .07 - Bundle of money ($1 - x35; $5 - x35; $10 - x35; $20 - x41; $50 - x27; $100 - x28; $500 - x13): Rectangular, coloured paper with black text printed on the front. The front right side of each bill features the image of a single die and a cartoon smiling face with text around the edge "In Fun We Trust". Each denomination is a different colour $1 = green, $5 = pink, $10 = blue, $20 = yellow, $50 = marigold, $100 = beige, $500 = white. The bundle also still has the original cardboard backing. .08 - "Deeds" (property) x28, "Big Fun" (thumbs up) x14 and "Contingency" (exclamation mark) x14 cards: White cardstock with black text and colourful, cartoony images on the front and back. The "Deeds" (properties) are all different and correspond with the "property" squares along the edge of the board. The "Big Fun" cards have a command for the player to follow that has a positive effect and the "Contingency" cards have a command with a negative effect. On the reverse of each card is a thumbs up symbol (for "Big Fun") and an exclamation mark (for "Contingency"). .09 - "City Blocks" x28 and "Keys to the City" x13: The "City Blocks" are small cubes of dark grey plastic with plain, straight sides and open at the bottom. The "Keys to the City" are an old-style skeleton key with an oval top, straight middle and two small extensions on the opposite end. It stands upright on a small circular base and is made of gold plastic. .010 - Plastic insert in box: Clear, molded plastic that sits in the bottom section of the box (.02). It has eight deep, rectangular indentations around the edge, in which to place the game pieces, money and cards during play and storage. |
