Provenance |
This candy jar and 1972.1.2 came from a General Store in Alma. The store was owned by Alexander Burnett and before that, by Anthony Griffin. Before Mr. Griffin, the store was owned by Mr. Struthers. Thus, the jar is over 100 years old. Rev. R. H. Somerville was minister at Alma Presbyterian Church in 1923 when these jars were presented to he and his wife. Mrs. Somerville wished the jars to be given to the Wellington County Museum in Mr. Burnett's name. |
