Description |
A table kerosene oil lamp consisting of an opaque white "milk glass" base and clear pressed pattern glass font (.01) possibly flint glass, clear glass chimney with a beaded/crimped top (.02), and a burner (.03). Wick is missing. The font design consists of a globe with eight indented circles around the lower portion of the font and is joined to the base with a brass cylinder which is cemented in place. The milk glass base has a square foot with indented and rounded corners, including a rayed like design that reduces up the stem and ends at the brass connector. The font design is an early "Bullseye" pattern circa 1880 and the milk glass base can be seen on the "Keele" lamp (Thruo book 1 page 90), The lamp has a replacement collar and some repair to the area between the font stem/base and the brass joint on the stem. |
