The socks were hand knit by Mrs. Helen Rae, of Puslinch Township. Helen Rae (nee Ogilvie) was born in Castleton, Roxboroughshire, Scotland in 1833; she married William Rae in 1857 and emigrated to Canada in 1858. They settled at Pine Hill farm, Puslinch Township. |
