Description |
Portable Panasonic tape recorder and player, model RQ-413MS. The set includes the recorder (.01), AC power cord (.02), microphone (.03) with case/pouch (.04) and stand (.05) and instruction manual (.06). .01 - Tape recorder - Rectangular shape made of black and silver plastic and metal. The speaker, tape deck and buttons are all on top of the recorder. Text is printed in silver "auto stop, AC/battery, Panasonic" and black for the buttons "pause, record, play, review, ff/cue, stop, eject" and "rec. batt., condensor microphone". The record button is a small orange piece of plastic placed inside of the play button. The tape deck has a clear plastic lid. There is a "DC in 6V" input port on the proper right side and an "AC in" input port on the proper left side. The tone and volume control dials are on the front along the bottom as well as input ports for "monitor", "remote", "mic" and AUX in". There is a square silver metal handle that pulls out from the front of the recorder. A piece of masking tape on the proper right side reads "Property of the Wellington County Historical Research Society - c/o S.Koop, 843-4031". .02 - AC power cord - Long black vinyl covered electrical cord. Two prong plug on one end and two hole AC input on the other. .03 - Microphone - Small, short microphone made of black plastic with silver metal ring around the black metal microphone cover on top. There is an on/off switch on the side. The microphone is attached to a thin black vinyl electrical cord with two prongs on the end. .04 - Pouch - Rectangular black pleather pouch a metal snap at the top front. There is a strap with a snap on the inside near the top. "Made in Japan" is stamped into the back near the bottom. .05 - Microphone stand - Made of black plastic with a thick ring at the top attached to a flat piece that extends at the bottom with pointed feet. .06 - Instruction manual - One page that folds into four printed on heavy weight cream coloured glossy paper with black and turquoise text and images. The manual outlines basic operation of the recorder and its parts as well as other functions and maintenance. |

Originally belonged to the Wellington County Historical Society for recording oral histories. It later (mid-1980s-1990s) became the property of the Wellington County Archives where it was used to record oral histories and to play cassette tapes from the archives collection for researchers. |
