Maitland family of Elora records and photographs, ca. 1857-2016. Records documenting the descendants of Francis Maitland (1800-1860) and Jane Cruickshank, who settled in Nichol Township in 1837. Their children were Alexander, James, Jane (Armstrong), Francis, Margaret (Laidlaw), John (1833-1915), Andrew, George, and William. The records are primarily organized for genealogical purposes, with contemporary research notes filed together with original records (textual and photographs) relating to an individual or family group. Additional photographs, originally stored in albums or loose in boxes, are listed after the research files. - file 1: Maitland history, ca. 1964-1985.
