Photographic slides of Moorefield, Maryborough Township, and Elora, taken by Viola Wildfang, 1947 - 1959. Collection contains 181 colour slides taken in Moorefield and the surrounding area in Maryborough Township, as well as in the Village of Elora, between the years 1947 and 1959. These slides are often of individuals, businesses, farms, and various local events. The photographs were taken by Viola Clara (Busse) Wildfang (21 October 1896 - 1961). Viola was born in Brookfield, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, and was a registered nurse. She was married to Dr. Earle J. Wildfang (20 February 1898 - March 1962), who was born in Elmwood, Ontario. Earle ran a medical practice out of their home, and Viola often assisted her husband in his work. In her spare time, she often took photographs of Moorefield, its residents and businesses, and the surrounding area. She and Earle had three children together, and are buried in Bethesda Community Cemetery, Moorefield. The slides were donated in three carousel trays, which were organized by date, with each slide having an individual number. The slides have been kept in this order in our catalogue. All slides had additional information written on the sleeves, which has been recorded below. Another accession, A2001.80, contains copy prints of some slides here, also taken by Viola Wildfang.
