Description |
Arkell Branch Women's Institute records, 1909-2011. Arkell Women's Institute, minute books, programmes, Tweedsmuir History and scrapbooks, 1909-2011. Arkell W.I. was founded 17 June 1909, as a branch of Wellington South District. The Branch disbanded following a meeting 10 May 2011. The minutes of the Arkell Branch, unlike others in the Archives' collection, are complete from beginning to end. Minutes are for the most part handwritten, recorded in notebooks issued for that purpose by the Ontario Women's Institutes. They also contain Records of Meetings (with topic and/or speaker); cash Receipts and Expenditures; annual Financial Statements (a copy of which was forwarded to District Secretary); lists of Officers and Directors, and Membership (most with Arkell addresses). = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = FILES BELOW STORED MU 1053 SERIES 1: MINUTES, FINANCIAL RECORDS, 1909-2011. - file 1: 1909-1912. - file 2: 1912-1915. - file 3: 1915-1917. - file 4: 1917-1920. - file 5: 1920-1923. - file 6: 1923-1926. - file 7: 1926-1929. - file 8: 1929-1935. - file 9: 1935-1939. - file 10: 1939-1942. - file 11: 1942-1946.
