Parkinson family records, Eramosa Township, 1840-1948. Joseph Parkinson Sr. (1787-1851) and his wife Ellen (nee Hodgkinson, 1787-1858) arrived from England with their family and settled on Concession 1 Lot 12, Eramosa Township in 1824. Of their children, Joseph Jr. (born 1816) married Hannah (nee Duffield, died 1927). And of their children, Leonard (1855-1924) married Hannah Sunley (1859-1927), the daughter of Henry and Eliza Sunley. Their children were Eliza (born 1885); James (1887-1967); Hannah (1889-1907); and Henry (1891-1918). In 1915, James Parkinson married Ida Bell Card (1887-1981), daughter of Thomas Card and his wife Margaret Ann (nee Kirby). They farmed the West-half, Lot 13, Con.1, Eramosa Township, raising and showing prizewinning Lincoln sheep from 1909-1926. Ida Parkinson taught at S.S.
