- ph 9537: Contact print made in 1971 of a strip of negatives that included one of a bust-length portrait of James "J. J." Morrison of Arthur, Ontario, ca. 1920, with part of its cardboard mount visible bearing the signature of the original photographer [Frederick] "Lyonde / Toronto Canada". Morrison is wearing a suit and tie and spectacles, and is balding with short white hair and moustache. Inscribed in black crayon at top of contact print, "Pg 21 (B) / S.S. H/T to F.L". This notation likely makes reference to details of its publication in Frank Coffey's book, "Portrait: A History of the Arthur and Area," which was published in 1971. |
