Black and white studio portrait in studio envelope; Bust-length portrait of a middleaged man wearing dark suit and tie with white shirt, and glasses. Identified by the donor as Mat Boyes, "...from Scotland. Had no children. He worked in store in Elora, friend of Maitlands". He was married to Jean Hanna of Belwood. A calling card enclosed notes "Mr. & Mrs. M.R.B. Boyes". A note on a duplicate of this portrait, in the possession of the same donor, reads, "Matt Boys / in WWI / worked travelling / pharmaceuticals / YMCA? buried / from Wainds house". |
