1978.216.1 - Drawers

Denim blue knitted, woolen drawers. An elastic is threaded into the knit at the waistband. There is lavender trim around the waistband and the legs. The diamond shaped crotch is panel knit seperately and has been attached to the drawers.

Small silver goblet with fairly plain base and ornate floral design on cup. Inscribed "Presented by Jas. Reith & son/To David Black for the Best Field of Turnips/E.L.A.L./1895".

2002.23.1.02 - Stripe, Wounded Stripe, Military Badge, Military

A brass-plated military stripe (.01) attached to a brass-plated back plate (.02) by a split pin, 1914-1918. On the back of the stripe, in raised letters, is "Service Wounded Stripe/ S.S. Ltd-B-No. 4/ Pat. 115896." Stamped on the back plate (.02) is "Service Wounded Stripe/ S.S. Ltd-B/No. 4/ Prov/ Pat."

2002.23.11 - Belt, Ammunition

A WWI military machine gun ammunition belt, dated 1914 - 1918. It is made of canvas webbing with a brass clasp. Interspersed at 1-inch intervals are silver metal attachments grommetted to the webbing. Every third one extends above the belt.

2002.23.2.02 - Tag, Military Identification Tag, Dog

Two military identification tags (.01 & .02) used in World War I, circa 1914-1918. The tags are made of vulcanized asbestos and are held together with a short piece of string. The round tag (.01) is brown in colour and has the following information stamped into it: "Crane J.E. / 1 CDN M G BATT/ P/ 663651." The khaki-coloured tag (.02) is eight-sided with the following information stamped into it: "Crane J.E./ P./ 663651/ 1 CDN. M.G. BATT." These ...

A wool khaki-coloured military cap dated during 1914-1918. It has a brown leather strap above the brim. The cap has a brass Machine Gun Corps cap badge. It has black oil cloth lining.

2002.23.5 - Dressing, Shell

An unopened WWI field dressing consisting of a rectangular khaki/brown cotton packet with two white cotton pull tapes. Printed in black ink on one side of packet: "War Office - Medical Division / First Field Dressing", as well as instructions for use, a description of contents: "Two dressings in waterproof covers, each consisting of a gauze pad, stitched to a bandage, and a safety pin", manufacturer's name and date: "June 1918".

A World War I wool khaki jacket, circa 1916-1918. It has a 5-button front and four pockets. It has brass-plated buttons. It has one collar badge designating the Machine Gun Corps. One stripe is on the left arm. Three small blue stripes are on the right sleeve.

2012.25.1 - Tag, Identification Tag, Name Label, Identification

An oval silver metal identification tag made with a hole punched at one end. Inscribed on the front is "C.J. Keeley, Butcher, Fergus, Ont." and above this in raised letters is "If found return to." Inscribed on the back is "1925."

2015.63.1.02 - Pig, Blind Warmer, Bed Warmer, Body Warmer, Foot

A glazed stoneware 'blind pig' style foot warmer (.02) with removeable plug (.01). Cylindrical shape with a flat bottom, one flat end, and a rounded end with a knob/ handle. The foot warmer is mostly a tan colour with a redish brown colour on the fill plug and the handle end, There is a moulded leaf decoration around the fill plug opening. There is no maker's mark.
