Handsewn, cotton, patchwork signature quilt top. Pieces are sewn together in strips. Embroidered with the names of the pupils of Salem School, dated November 23, 1896. The centre block reads "Margaret Amy Wilson Nichol Nov. 23 1896". Every second or third block is white with embroidered red names. Some names are embroidered on light prints.
