    An infant's christening ensemble consisting of a coat (.01), bonnet (.02), christening gown (.03) and slip (.04). The bonnet (.02) is stored separately.     Woman's off-white linen plain weave handkerchief. Square in shape and embellished with a 3.5 cm wide border of handcrafted drawn thread work; this border is set 3.5 cm in from the outer edge. Double cloth border is 3.5 cm wide with hemstitched corners. Handwritten in ink at centre of handkerchief are the initials "S M. F." [Sarah Matilda Freeman].

One end of the strap is attached to the bag and the other is joined to the wooden base by a metal hook. Attached to the wooden base is a red wooden handle and metal crank.     Eleven plastic pieces of doll furniture (.01-.07, .08 and .011), dated circa 1950-1955. The furniture consists of the following: a pink bureau (.01), a pink corner cupboard (.02), a pink table (.03), two pink chairs (.04 and .05), a pink plastic baby stroller (.06), a pink kitchen sink (.07), a red rocking chair (.09), and a red swivel chair (.011). The rocking chair (.09) was painted red; its original colour was blue.

  9. 2009.28.1.02 - Doll, Plastic Toy

    Large plastic and cotton infant 'Thumbelina' doll (.01); dated 1962-1964. The plastic limbs are outstretched and, when the knob on its back is wound, the head and limbs slowly move. Light brown, softly curled hair, blue eyes and open mouth are the main features of the plastic head. The body is stuffed with soft material. The only original clothing for the doll is its white flannel diaper (.02).

  10. 2011.43.1 - Tractor

    A 1945 "J.I. Case" model "LA" tractor painted orange with rubber tires on the original steel spoke wheels. The 6-volt battery is new (2011) and the tires are new (2009). It has a 4-cylinder in-line motor and is 54 horsepowered.

Each stereograph has two almost identical sepia pictures placed side by side which, when viewed through the stereoscope (2011.54.1.02) produce a three-dimensional image.     A brass and wooden Maple Syrup Thermometer dated circa 1930. The brass scale has inscribed numbers and letters. It is screwed onto the wooden backing. On the top of the metal component is "The Grimm MFG. CO. LTD/ Montreal QUE/ 1930." The scale is from "40 - 270." On the right side of the scale is "Made In U.S.A. / 13 LB. 3 oz. / Syrup/ Cake Sugar." Glass and metal thermometer is place in between the wooden pieces.

    A .303 lever action rifle made with a walnut stock. It takes "five and one" .303 calibre shells. The firing pin has not been removed. The Model 99 rifle has the serial number '"20238'." The maker is "Savage Arms, Utica, N.Y."
