Black and white prints removed from the patient files of the Wellington Terrace Home for the Aged [formerly the Wellington County Home for the Aged, and before that, the Wellington County House of Industry and Refuge]; prints are listed in the alphabetic order of the name-files in which they were found. [NOTE: the photograph may be of an unrelated person] ph 21137: Four women posed infront of a rose bush, ca. 1915. Identified on back as, "Mrs. J. Blyth, Monck / Barbara Smith / maid. / Mrs. J.H. Burt, / Mrs. J. Atcheson, / climbing rose in front of Mrs. J.H. Burt's / home". ph 21138: Very small tintype [portion] of an unidentified young woman, possibly related to the Barber family, ca. 1905. [see also ph 11019] ph 21139: Elderly man and woman posed on a front porch, ca. 1930. Written on back, "Drayton folk / this is Lizzie Cooper / Mr. Ackerman" [Note: [This is NOT a photo of Lizzie Cooper] ph 21151: Woman standing on front steps of the Wellington County House of Industry and Refuge, ca. 1918. Written on back, "Rebecca Williamson / this is Miss Rebecca / Willainson. / The nurse". ph 21152: Edgar Copland as a young boy, wearing coat and fur hat, ca. 1890. Identified on back as "Edgar Copland". Also included with photo is obituary for Malcolm Stuart Copland (died at Harriston in 1938, published on or shortly after September 14 of that year) and an In Memoriam card fro William T.H. THE FOLLOWING TWO PRINTS ADDED 12 OCTOBER 2018: - ph 52938: Sepia print of two unidentified women with long dark overcoats and very large hats. Removed from the file of Alexander Carrie Findlay (1883-1963), born in Grey County, entered the House of Industry from Fergus, No.2072. - ph 52939: Sepia print of an unidentified man, standing with his dog next to a frame building. There is a bridge in the background. The print was removed from an envelope addressed to James McGraw, Pusllnch from William McGraw, Molson, Washington, USA, postmarked 20 May 1935. James McGraw, No.born 1862 or 1870, died at the House of Industry in 1936. The picture could be of William McGraw. |
