A white cotton broadcloth nightcap dated circa 1840 -1845. The cap is handstitched constructed from a single piece of fabric, with two deep darts at the back. The nightcap has a drawstring located at the nape of the neck. The ties are made from a coarser material and are edged with a plain frill of a finer fabric.

A thin chain is attached to the top of the locket.
