John Scott married Margaret McPhatter and Elizabeth Scott married Alexander Smith McKellar. Both families farmed in Puslimch Twp., and subsequent generations were connected to the families of Fixter and Major. - file 2: Our Fixter Family: Descendants of William Fixter and his wife Martha Coville, compiled by Betty N. Major, 2006. William Fixter (1799-1859) and his wife Martha Coville (1791-1846) had, it is thought, nine children, all born in Lincolnshire, England. Their eldest son Thomas, born in 1818 came to Canada, married, and settled in London where he died 1882. Family of Thomas= brothers came and settled in the London, Ottawa and Oakville areas. Henry Fixter (1867-1952) came from his birthplace, Lincolnshire, to Canada and in the 1891 Census is shown working on the Stewart farm in Puslinch. He later worked on the Scott farm, and married their daughter Margaret Jane AMaggie@ in 1898. Their first child was born in Ottawa, but the three which followed were born in Puslinch. - ph 36543: Cabinet card of "Mr. and Mrs. Joe Black"; photograph by James Walker of Fergus, taken between 1897-1907.
